Vijayawada, October 3, 2025: The Andhra Pradesh Kapu Joint Action Committee (JAC) has welcomed the issuance of GO 7 by the state government, while demanding the complete repeal of GO 5, which had controversially categorized certain Kapu sub-groups under the “Giri Balija” label. Addressing a press conference at Vijayawada Press Club, JAC President Chandu Janardhan expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, Minister Nara Lokesh, BC Welfare Minister Savitha, Secretary S. Satyanarayana, and Rajya Sabha member Sana Satish for their support in addressing Kapu community concerns. Chandu Janardhan criticized GO 5 for causing social and cultural insult to the Kapu community, noting that decades-old issues require immediate resolution. The JAC demanded solutions for Kapu sub-caste problems, allocation of funds to the Kapu Corporation, completion of housing projects, and honoring the memory of the late Vangaveeti Mehan Ranga in Krishna district. They also urged priority in nominated and political positions based on population and fair postings for Kapu employees. The JAC highlighted that to address BC reservation and other community issues, they will continue their agitation, including meetings across Annamayya district and a planned hunger strike to press for their demands. Chandu Janardhan also acknowledged the contributions of Kapu employee associations, teacher groups, and Balija community leaders from various districts who supported the movement for repealing GO 5. The press conference was attended by several Kapu JAC and district-level leaders, including Sanjeev Kumar, Samatam Ramu, Chandu Bhavanarayana, Bhaskar, Mullapudi Nageswara Rao, Sunkara Sambasiva Rao, and others, emphasizing the united stance of the Kapu community in achieving social justice and recognition.

Amaravati, October 2025: The Agriculture Department of Andhra Pradesh has announced an extension for the registration of land and crop details under the Kharif e-Crop Digital Survey 2025. Originally set to close earlier, the last date for recording crop cultivation data has now been extended to October 25, 2025, while social verification and corrections can be made until October 30, 2025. The final lists will be displayed on notice boards by October 31, 2025. According to Sri Dilli Rao, IAS, State Agricultural Director, progress in the e-Crop survey has been affected by specific field challenges. Of the 290 lakh land parcels statewide, only 36% (88 lakh parcels) have been recorded so far. Delays were primarily due to new field staff unfamiliar with survey numbers, concurrent responsibilities such as seed and fertilizer distribution, and heavy rainfall affecting field operations. Districts like Krishna, East Godavari, and Kakinada reported better coverage above 50%, while YSR, Chittoor, Anakapalli, Visakhapatnam, and Alluri Sitaramaraju districts showed less than 22% coverage. The department emphasized that all crop and non-cultivated fallow land data must be completed by the end of October. District Agricultural and Horticultural officers have been instructed to ensure active participation of Village Revenue Officers (VROs), proper supervision of farmer service center staff, and daily monitoring of survey progress. The e-Crop database will serve as a centralized platform for farmers’ land and crop data, supporting welfare programs and development schemes across the state. The Agriculture Department further advised allocation of additional staff, coordinated inter-departmental supervision, and continuous monitoring to ensure complete and high-quality data collection within the revised timeline. Farmers and officials are urged to cooperate fully to achieve 100% coverage for the Kharif 2025 season.
